In its normative helter skelter way, Pacifica radio is providing ongoing coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Several weeks ago I posted a piece critical of New York station WBAI’s lack of live coverage of the activities in Zuccoti Park and elsewhere around the area. Since then ‘BAI has launched Occupy Wall Street Radio from 6:30 to 7 PM, Mondays through Fridays. “The show will offer a regular check in for the latest breaking news from the streets,” the announcement says.
Meanwhile KPFA-FM in Berkeley has pretty much glommed onto Occupy Oakland/San Francisco, to the point where it’s hard to figure out where one ends and the other begins (not a complaint; just an observation; relax). KPFA has its own page with links to various shows and their coverage (Morning Mix with Davey D; Against the Grain; Hard Knock Radio, Flashpoints, Letters and Politics, KPFA News, etc). The News Department’s John Hamilton has a particularly good piece on Democracy Now about the November 2 March in Oakland (see Vimeo above).
