Be forewarned: this summer KALW’s Hear Here, a “pop up radio project,” will be popping up at the main branch of the San Francisco public library. The show will be there today, in fact (Wednesday, May 23), from 3 to 7 PM.
KALW is the public radio station of the San Francisco Unified School district. Staff will be ready to “record your memories, tales, and favorite personal stories,” the announcement says. “Bring a loved one, come in a group, or come by yourself – your stories will live online, and could even air on 91.7FM!”
The Hear Here session will take place at the Strong Conference Room. If you miss this one, another is scheduled for June 6.
Hear Here describes itself “as designed to illuminate life in Oakland and San Francisco. Over 12 months, we’re asking residents to tell stories about their lives in these cities – projects, relationships, and passions. We’ll share what we’ve learned on air, online, and on stage, drawing out the common threads that tie us together. ”
Previous Hear Here events took place around the Oakland public library system. More about Hear Here here.
