Museum of Broadcast Communications Opens in Chicago

Today the Museum of Broadcast Communications hosted its grand opening at its Chicago headquarters at 360 North State Street. This is the third location for the museum, which has faced a number of challenges in its 25-year history.

Now open to the public, the museum features exhibits related to radio and television history.  It also has a special gallery (which opened last year) focused on its subsidiary organization, the National Radio Hall of Fame.

In addition to artifacts on view at the physical museum (including vintage radios, a working radio and television studio and Oprah’s door), the Museum of Broadcast Communications website is also full of archival material ranging from radio and television programs, to commercials, to photographs.
