- Radio Free Asia reports that the Cambodian government is banning the broadcast of foreign radio programs on local stations. Prime Minister Hun sen says the move is to keep foreigners from campaigning for candidates. The US Government lodged a protest with Cambodian authorities. (via SWLing Post).
- Former program director of Chicago public station WBEZ Jim Nayder passed away Friday. Nayder also produced NPR’s Annoying Music Show.
- Cable news pioneer CNN shut down its CNN Radio unit abruptly last Thursday, informing staff that same day that their last day would be Friday. The service had been online only for about a year, since Dial Global dropped it in favor of NBC News Radio.
