Now that the FCC is back in business and clearing out its queue the deadline for low-power FM applications has been extended to November 14 at 6 PM ET(PDF), two weeks later than the original October 29 date. This is shorter than what a group of LPFM advocacy has hoped for–they asked for an extension equal to the length of the shutdown plus one week.
That means qualified groups that are seeking a non-commercial LPFM license have just under 3 weeks to finish and submit their applications.
To assist, the FCC has rescheduled for October 24, from 1 – 2:30 PM ET, the LPFM webinar that was supposed to happen during the shutdown. This will be dedicated primarily to answering questions from applicants submitted by email to lpfm@fcc.gov or posted to twitter with the hashtag #LPFMquestions.
