More and more radio stations are realizing the importance of having a multimedia operation, incorporating not only audio transmissions, but also video and other web features. Today, North Carolina State University’s student radio station WKNC 88.1 FM announced that it has launched The Lounge video project on YouTube. The nearly one month-old channel so far features performances by guitarists Daniel Bachman and Jackson Scott. Interested musicians are being invited to contact WKNC by emailing lounge AT WKNC dot org if they would like to perform at the Raleigh, North Carolina-based station.
In addition to its new video channel, WKNC also publishes a blog (which features station news, podcasts, music reviews, and music charts). In recognition for its rich web features, WKNC was named a finalist in the Best Student Media Website category at CBI’s National Student Production Awards last month.
