This year the National Federation for Community Broadcasters is holding regional summits instead of one big national conference. The registration price is lower, and travel should be easier and less expensive for most people. Therefore they’re great opportunities for community broadcasters, especially new LPFM stations, to meet likeminded radio-makers and take advantage of what the NFCB has to offer.
The first summit was held in St. Louis in March, hosted by KDHX-FM.
The four upcoming summits are:
- Nevada City, CA, May 21 – 22, host station KVMR
- Albuquerque, NM, June 11 – 13, host station KUNM
- Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN, June 25 – 26, host AMPERS
- Olympia, WA, July 23 – 24, host station KAOS
Each summit features workshops on topics like fundraising, technology, programming and organizing, along with music and cultural events.
Founded more than 30 years ago, the NFCB is a national organization providing services to and advocating for community radio stations in the US.
